SD Raiders U20 vs Blacktown Spartans U20
RAIDERS U20 HOST BLACKTOWN U20 IN CRUCIAL YOUTH LEAGUE CLASH
SYDNEY (Interstat) — A lopsided recent history will be on the minds of both sides when SD Raiders U20 host Blacktown Spartans U20 in a New South Wales NPL 2 Youth league match Sunday at Ernie Smith Reserve.
The Week 2 fixture, set for Dec. 14, 2025, is a rematch of a May 10 demolition where the Raiders routed Blacktown 5-0 at home. That result is part of a starkly contrasting run of form for the two clubs heading into the offseason break.
The Raiders (8-2-1) finished their previous campaign strong, winning five of their final six matches. Their only loss in that span was a 2-0 defeat to powerhouse Newcastle Jets U20. Their attack has been potent, scoring three or more goals in seven of their eleven matches, including the 5-0 win over Blacktown and a 5-0 victory over Bonnyrigg WE U20.
Blacktown Spartans U20 (2-4-5), conversely, ended their season in disastrous fashion, suffering an 8-0 thrashing away to the Newcastle Jets on May 31. That followed the 5-0 loss to the Raiders. Their season was marked by defensive struggles, conceding five or more goals on four occasions, including a 5-0 loss to Bulls Academy U20.
Despite the clear historical data, statistical projections suggest a tight contest. Interstat’s game simulator predicts a 1-1 draw. However, the same outlet’s ELO rating system gives the home side a significant edge, calculating a 63.60% probability that the Raiders will win.
The match will be the second outing of the new 2025-26 youth league season for both teams. The Raiders will look to leverage their home-pitch advantage and attacking confidence, while Blacktown will be desperate to prove their heavy defeats were an aberration and showcase a more resilient defensive structure.
Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Ernie Smith Reserve in Sydney.
