VELSEN-ZUID, Netherlands (Interstat) — Exc Maassluis U21 opened its UEFA U19 Championship Qualification campaign with a dominant 5-1 road victory over Telstar U21 on Tuesday at BUKO Stadion. The visitors’ substitutes delivered four goals in a lopsided NED: U21 Divisie 3 match that defied pregame projections.

Elisa Van Dijk led the surge with two second-half goals. Rose Ivens, Liv Pennock and Anne Gelevert — all substitutes — also scored, with Ivens opening the floodgates in the 10th minute. Giulia Galli added a goal for the hosts, who have opened the competition with two losses.

Exc Maassluis U21, which improved to 2-0 in the qualifying group, saw defenders Lidia Consolini and Alice Bertola receive yellow cards. The result was a stark reversal of expectations, as statistical models heavily favored Telstar U21 to win.
