LONDON (Interstat) — In an upset result, Lincoln City U18 and Scunthorpe U18 played to a 1-1 draw in an ENG Youth Alliance match Friday at Stadion Ogosta. The outcome defied pre-game projections that heavily favored the home side. Ivelin Popov gave Scunthorpe an early lead in the 7th minute, but Lincoln City’s Anatoliy Gospodinov equalized in first-half stoppage time. Interstat’s game simulator had projected a 3-1 victory for Lincoln City, which was given a 73.8 percent probability to win. With the draw, Scunthorpe’s league record moves to 1-0-1, while Lincoln City sits at 0-1-1.
