MAASMECHELEN, Belgium (Interstat) — KV Oostende secured a 3-2 road victory over Eisd Maasmechelen on Sunday in a Week 29 Belgian First Division B match at Patrostadion. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the hosts.

Simon Bammens opened the scoring for the home side in the 18th minute, but Oostende responded with three unanswered goals. Thomas Hervé Basila equalized in the 27th, David Atanga put the visitors ahead in the 33rd off an assist from Mohamed Berte, and a third Oostende goal followed in the 86th. Patro Eisden’s Stefán Ingi Sigurðarson scored a consolation goal in stoppage time, assisted by Bammens.

The win improves Oostende’s division record to a perfect mark. Basila received a yellow card for Oostende, which saw Ewan Henderson booked as well.
