Preview: FK Rakovski vs. Asenovets in Bulgarian Cup Clash

SOFIA, Bulgaria (Interstat) — A spot in the next round of Bulgaria’s domestic cup competition is on the line Sunday when FK Rakovski hosts Asenovets at Stadion G.S. Rakovski.

The BUL: Cup of Bulgaria match is scheduled for Dec. 21, 2025.

Both sides enter the knockout fixture looking to rebound from recent league defeats. Rakovski fell 3-2 on the road at Maritsa Plovdiv on Sept. 20. Asenovets dropped a 2-1 result at Neftohimik on Sept. 13.

Statistical models favor the home side. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 3-1 victory for Rakovski. The organization’s ELO rating system gives Rakovski a 52.9% probability of advancing.

The cup tournament offers a crucial opportunity for each club to build momentum. Rakovski will rely on home support in Sofia, while Asenovets aims to spring an away upset.
