Dumbarton Upsets Edinburgh City in Playoff Clash Behind Second-Half Goals

THESSALONIKI, Greece (Interstat) — Dumbarton secured a 2-0 road victory over Edinburgh City in a Scottish playoff match Sunday at Stadio Harilaou Kleánthis Vikelídis.

The visitors broke a scoreless deadlock with two second-half goals. Thiago Nuss opened the scoring in the 61st minute before Ross MacLean doubled the lead in the 71st.

Edinburgh City, which was projected as a heavy favorite to win, could not respond despite a two-goal performance from attacker Ousman See. His efforts, including a goal in the 11th minute, were not enough.

The result improves Dumbarton’s record in the competition to one win and no losses. Edinburgh City’s playoff record now stands at one win, one loss and one draw.
