Antigua GFC vs Mixco
ANTIGUA, Guatemala (Interstat) — Antigua GFC hosts Mixco on Saturday in a Week 12 matchup of Guatemala’s Liga Nacional, seeking to extend its recent dominance in the series.
The game at Estadio Pensativo kicks off at a time to be determined. Antigua enters after a 3-2 home win over Comunicaciones on Wednesday, April 29. That result improved the side’s form: Antigua is unbeaten in its last three league matches (2-0-1), with wins over Comunicaciones and Deportivo Zacapa either side of a 2-2 draw at Achuapa.
Mixco, meanwhile, arrives on the back of a 2-2 draw at Mictlan on April 16. That result halted a three-match winning streak for Mixco, which had beaten Xelaju 3-1, lost to Comunicaciones 1-0, and drawn 2-2 with Comunicaciones earlier in March. Overall, Mixco’s season has been marked by frequent draws — five in its last 10 league games — and a tendency to share points on the road.
The head-to-head record favors Antigua. The clubs met twice in the 2025 season: Antigua won 2-1 at home on Aug. 22, 2025, and then beat Mixco 1-0 away on Nov. 1, 2025. Antigua has not lost to Mixco since 2024.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, while the organization’s ELO system gives Antigua an 85.6 percent probability of earning a victory.
Antigua’s recent home form has been solid. The club has lost only once at Estadio Pensativo in league play since February — a 4-2 defeat to Municipal — and has posted three clean sheets in its last five home matches.
Mixco, conversely, has struggled on the road, with a 1-3-4 record away from home this season, including a 2-1 loss at Malacateco and a 2-2 draw at Mictlan.
Saturday’s match is the first of a two-game series between the sides; they will meet again in Mixco later this season. Both teams sit in the middle of the Liga Nacional table, with playoff positioning at stake in the final weeks of the regular season.
