CHINGOLA, Zambia (Interstat) — A pair of Zambian Super League rivals seeking their first win of the young season will meet Sunday when Nchanga Rangers host Green Buffaloes at Nchanga Stadium.

The Week 3 fixture pits two clubs coming off extended layoffs and season-opening losses. The Rangers fell 2-0 to Red Arrows on Sept. 13, while the Buffaloes suffered a 1-0 defeat to Kabwe Warriors on Sept. 20. Both teams hold 0-0 records in league play.

Despite the similar form, statistical projections paint a conflicting picture for the matchup. Interstat’s ELO rating system gives Green Buffaloes a 60.10 percent probability of victory. However, the same service’s game simulator predicts a 1-1 draw.

The game will be a test for both sides’ offenses, which were shut out in their previous outings. The home-standing Rangers will look to capitalize on their home pitch in Chingola to secure a positive result against a Buffaloes side favored on paper.

Following this contest, Green Buffaloes are scheduled to host Chambishi, while Nchanga Rangers are set to visit Zanaco in their next Super League fixtures.
