MÉRIDA, Mexico (March 27, 2026) (Interstat) — Mineros de Zacatecas opened its season with a 2-1 road victory over Venados in Liga de Expansión MX Week 11 action Friday at Estadio Olímpico Carlos Iturralde Rivero.

The visitors defied pre-game projections that heavily favored the home side. Attacker Luis Salvador Razo Miranda broke a scoreless tie in the 63rd minute for Mineros. The match was contentious, featuring eight yellow cards.

The result gave Mineros a winning start to the league campaign, while Venados began with a loss. Interstat’s game simulator had projected a draw, and its ELO system gave Venados a 63.6% probability to win.
