SANTIAGO, Chile (Interstat) — Universidad de Chile opened the Primera División season with a 3-0 victory over Cobresal on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos.

Cristian Palacios scored in the second minute off an assist from Israel Poblete and set up Fabian Hormazabal for the second goal in the 52nd minute. Universidad de Chile added a third goal later to secure the win. Palacios, an attacker from Belén, Uruguay, finished with one goal and one assist in 70 minutes.
