EGKOMI, Cyprus (Dec. 13, 2025) (Interstat) — Apollon Limassol scored twice in the final minutes to salvage a 2-2 draw with SFK Riga in a UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage match Saturday at Makareio Stadio.

The result defied pre-match projections, as statistical models heavily favored a Limassol victory. Defender Queralt Gómez Sarriol opened the scoring for the Cypriot side in the 16th minute. Attacker Maria José Alondra Rojas Pino doubled the lead in the 27th.

SFK Riga mounted a stunning second-half comeback, netting two unanswered goals to pull level. Substitute Eishaddai Acheampong then secured a point for the hosts with a crucial 88th-minute equalizer. The draw leaves both teams seeking their first win of the Champions League campaign.
