Icelandic women’s football league match preview: KR at ÍBV

VESTMANNAEYJAR, Iceland (Interstat) — The Úrvalsdeild Women enters Week 12 play Wednesday, as ÍBV W hosts KR W at 7 p.m. local time at Hásteinsvöllur.

Both clubs bring contrasting recent form into the matchup. KR arrives on a two-match winning streak. The visitors posted a 2-0 shutout at Grindavík on Dec. 16, 2025, and later that same day defeated Víkingur Reykjavík 2-1. KR’s season also includes a 3-0 victory over Thór/KA on Aug. 10, 2025, but a 3-1 loss at Valur on June 10, 2022.

ÍBV enters with momentum from a dominant performance. The hosts defeated Fylkir 9-1 on Sept. 4, 2025. Earlier this season, ÍBV played to a 1-1 draw at Afturelding on Aug. 3, 2025, but lost 2-0 at home to Stjarnan on June 10, 2022.

Forecasting models disagree on the outcome. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-2 draw. However, Interstat’s ELO system gives ÍBV an 84.70 percent probability to win.

Following Wednesday’s match, ÍBV travels to Selfoss on Thursday, May 7, while KR hosts Valur on Friday, May 15.
