HOBART, Australia (Interstat) — South Hobart and Launceston City played to a 1-1 draw in an AUS Tasmania NPL match Sunday at Darcy Street Ground, defying pregame projections of a lopsided home victory.

Joe Scally opened the scoring for the visitors in the seventh minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse. Launceston City held the lead until second-half substitute Nadiem Amiri netted the equalizer for South Hobart late in the match. The frantic finish included seven yellow cards, with six issued after the 82nd minute.

The result leaves South Hobart with one win and one draw in league play, while Launceston City remains winless with a draw and a loss. Interstat’s pregame model had given South Hobart a 90% probability to win.
