MUNSINGEN, Switzerland (Interstat) — Munsingen opened its 1. Liga Classic season with a 2-0 road victory over Wohlen on Sunday at Stadion Niedermatten.

Francesco Salvemini broke a scoreless deadlock in the final seconds of first-half stoppage time, scoring in the 45+5th minute. Munsingen added a second goal after the break to secure the win. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored the hosts.

The victory gives Munsingen a winning start in league play, while Wohlen seeks its first points after two losses. Wohlen’s next match is later Sunday against Neuchâtel Xamax II.
