WIEN (Interstat) — Austria Wien U18 and St. Pölten U18 played to a 1-1 draw Sunday in a Jugendliga U18 match at Austria-Akademie. The result defied pre-game projections that heavily favored the home side.

Austria Wien opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a goal from midfielder Osman Abdi. St. Pölten equalized later in the first half. The visitors’ Julian Hinterleitner received a yellow card in the 82nd minute.

The draw moves Austria Wien’s league record to one win and two draws. St. Pölten’s record in the competition now stands at six wins, four losses and three draws.
