NICOSIA, Cyprus (Interstat) — Zurich W delivered a stunning 6-1 victory over KI W in a UEFA Women’s Champions League match Saturday at Makareio Stadio, defying heavy statistical odds.

The Swiss side, playing as the home team, overwhelmed the Faroese visitors with goals from six different players. Fabienne Humm, Kim Dubs, Viktoria Pinther, Vanessa Bernauer, Nadine Riesen and Naomi Mégroz all scored for Zurich. Bernauer also received a late yellow card.

The result was a major upset. Pre-game projections heavily favored KI W to win. Zurich remains unbeaten in the competition this season, while KI is still seeking its first win.
