ST. GALLEN, Switzerland (Interstat) — YF Juventus opened its Swiss 1. Liga Promotion season with a 2-1 comeback win over Bruhl on Monday at Paul-Grüninger-Stadion.

The visitors overturned an early deficit with two first-half goals from substitutes. Bruhl’s Iris Omarsdottir opened the scoring in the 8th minute, but YF Juventus responded quickly. Cecilie Fløe Nielsen equalized in the 19th minute, assisted by Tecla Pettenuzzo. Marija Banušić then netted the winner just four minutes later, set up by Manuela Sciabica.

The result defied pre-match projections, which favored Bruhl. The match featured seven yellow cards, four shown to YF Juventus players. With the win, YF Juventus begins the league campaign with a victory while Bruhl starts with a loss.
