Sint-Eloois-Winkel vs Heist

Preview: Sint-Eloois-Winkel Hosts Heist to Open Belgian First Amateur Division Season

SINT-ELOOIS-WINKEL, Belgium (Interstat) — The Belgian First Amateur Division kicks off its new campaign Sunday with Sint-Eloois-Winkel set to host Heist at Sportcomplex Ter Burcht.

The Week 1 matchup pits a home side looking to start strong against a visiting team that finished its preseason schedule unbeaten.

Statistical models favor the hosts. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Sint-Eloois-Winkel, while its ELO rating system gives the club a 68.80% probability of winning the contest.

Sint-Eloois-Winkel enters following mixed preseason results. It most recently fell 2-1 at home to Francs Borains on Aug. 26. However, it demonstrated a potent attack in a 4-0 road victory over Knokke on Aug. 13. Manager Bart Van Lancker will aim to harness that offensive capability from the opening whistle.

Heist arrives with momentum from an undefeated preseason slate, though it concluded with a 1-1 home draw against Achel on Oct. 5. Prior to that, the team recorded four consecutive clean-sheet victories, outscoring opponents 13-0. Notable results included a 5-0 road win at Zwarte Leeuw on Aug. 10 and a 4-0 victory at Berchem Sport on Aug. 17.

The contrast in recent form sets the stage for a compelling tactical battle. Heist’s defensive solidity will be tested by Sint-Eloois-Winkel’s home-field advantage and favored status. A key matchup will be whether Heist’s organized back line, which was so effective in August, can stifle the Winkel attack.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time (1400 GMT) on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025. The match marks the official start of both clubs’ pursuit of promotion to Belgium’s second-tier Challenger Pro League.
