Fulham U23 Upsets West Brom in Premier League Cup Opener

WEST BROMWICH, England (Interstat) — Fulham U23 opened its Premier League Cup campaign with a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion U23 on Sunday at The Hawthorns.

Substitutes made the difference for the visitors. Andrews Tetteh opened the scoring in the sixth minute, assisted by Sverrir Ingi Ingason. Davide Calabria sealed the win with a second-half goal, assisted by Tin Jedvaj.

The result defied a pregame projection that favored the home side. West Brom’s Thiago Nuss received a red card in stoppage time after earlier earning a yellow. Fulham improved to 1-0-0 in the competition, while West Brom fell to 0-1-0.
