YOKOHAMA, Japan (April 3, 2026) (Interstat) — The Kashima Antlers opened their J1 League season with a 2-1 road victory over Yokohama F. Marinos on Friday at Nissan Stadium.

Kashima’s Dognimani Silue opened the scoring in the 26th minute. Yokohama responded with two goals before halftime, from José Élber in the 36th minute and Tomoki Iwata in first-half stoppage time, to take a lead. The Antlers secured the win with a second-half goal.

The result defied pre-match projections that heavily favored the home side. Kashima begins its league campaign with a win, while Yokohama starts with a loss.
