HERNING, Denmark (Interstat) — Midtjylland defeated AEK Larnaca 6-2 on Sunday at MCH Arena in a UEFA Champions League group-stage match.

AEK Larnaca opened the scoring in the 81st minute when midfielder Ádám Gyurcsó finished a pass from Kenan Pirić. Midtjylland answered three minutes later as defender Erik Sviatchenko headed home off an assist from midfielder Anders Laustrup Dreyer, who also logged an assist. The hosts added four more goals to complete the rout.

Yellow cards were issued to Midtjylland’s Raphael Onyedika Nwadike in the 19th minute, AEK’s Hrvoje Miličević in the 47th and Pirić in stoppage time.
