CI Kamsar vs Kaloum Star
COTONOU, Benin (Interstat) — CI Kamsar hosts Kaloum Star on Sunday, May 10, in a Week 6 matchup of Guinea’s Ligue 1, but the game will be played at Stade de l’Amitié in Cotonou, Benin, rather than in Guinea.
CI Kamsar enters the match looking to rebound from a 2-1 loss to Milo on Feb. 2. The defeat marked the team’s second in league play this season. Kaloum Star arrives after a scoreless draw with Séquence on March 8, a result that extended its winless streak to two matches. The club also played to a 0-0 tie with Fello Star on Jan. 18.
Sunday’s fixture is the latest in a season that has been uneven for both sides. CI Kamsar has shown early promise but struggled to finish chances, while Kaloum Star has been difficult to break down defensively but has lacked attacking firepower.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the match is projected to end in a 1-1 draw. However, the same company’s ELO model gives CI Kamsar a 77% probability of victory, indicating a statistical edge for the home side despite the neutral venue.
The decision to stage the match in Cotonou was not explained by league officials. Stade de l’Amitié, a 35,000-seat stadium, is primarily used for Benin national team matches and club competitions in that country.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time. No injuries or suspensions were reported for either team as of late this week.
CI Kamsar will aim to capitalize on home-field advantage in name only, while Kaloum Star seeks its first win of the campaign. Both clubs are in the middle of the Ligue 1 table heading into the weekend.
The match is part of a full slate of Week 6 games across Guinea’s top division. No broadcast details have been announced.
