GYUMRI, Armenia (Interstat) — West Armenia scored twice in the final 15 minutes to secure a 3-1 comeback victory over Shirak in an Armenian Premier League match Saturday at Gyumri City Stadium.

Shirak defender Tigran Sumbulyan opened the scoring in the 61st minute, but the lead was short-lived. West Armenia equalized in the 76th minute through Sargis Metoyan before Eydison Teofilo Soares, a substitute from Brazil, netted the decisive goal in the 79th minute. The visitors added a third in stoppage time.

The match featured eight yellow cards. The result defied a pregame statistical model that heavily favored Shirak.
