Late McCann Goal Lifts Dunfermline Past Inverness
DUNFERMLINE, Scotland (Interstat) — Lewis McCann’s 87th-minute strike delivered a 1-0 victory for Dunfermline Athletic over Inverness CT in a Scottish Championship match Wednesday at KDM Group East End Park.
The visitors took a shock lead just before halftime when defender Daniel Devine scored an own goal in the 43rd minute. Dunfermline pressed for an equalizer and found it late as McCann, a forward from Edinburgh, Northern Ireland, finished an assist from midfielder Joseph Chalmers. The match was contentious, with four yellow cards issued in stoppage time of the first half.
The result gives Dunfermline its second league win, while Inverness remains without a victory.
