LUIS GUILLÓN, Argentina (Interstat) — Julián Quiñones scored twice Thursday to power Banfield Res. to a 2-1 home victory over Arsenal Res. in Week 8 of Argentina’s Reserve League.

Quiñones opened the scoring in the 37th minute and added a second in the 59th at Predio Luis Guillón. His performance overturned a pregame projection that favored Arsenal. Substitute Karim Benzema provided a late consolation goal for the visitors.

The result gives Banfield Res. a winning start to its league campaign, while Arsenal Res. begins with a defeat. The match featured five yellow cards, issued to Gastón Álvarez, Mario Mitaj, Christopher Bonsu-Baah, Benzema and Quiñones.
