BUENOS AIRES (Interstat) — Boca Juniors Reserves dominated Belgrano Córdoba Reserves 5-0 on Sunday in Week 8 of Argentina’s Reserve League at their training facility in Ezeiza.

The result defied a pregame projection that favored Belgrano. Forward Mei Shimada led the onslaught with three goals, scoring in the 12th, 86th and a later minute. Midfielders Chika Katō and Kotono Sakakibara opened and extended the lead with goals in the 4th and 42nd minutes, respectively.

The victory gives Boca Juniors Reserves a winning start to their league campaign, while Belgrano Córdoba Reserves begin with a loss. Interstat’s ELO rating system had given Boca an 78.80 percent probability to win pregame.
