ALEXANDRIA, Egypt (Interstat) — ETSV Hamburg and Paloma battled to a 1-1 draw Monday in Week 1 of the GER Oberliga at Borg el-Arab Stadium.

Paloma struck first in the 33rd minute when Mohamed Salem scored with a header. ETSV Hamburg equalized in the 75th minute on a left-footed goal from forward Karim Al Tayeb.

The draw left ETSV Hamburg with a season record of 13 wins, two losses and three draws in Oberliga play, and 14-2-4 across all competitions. Paloma moved to 10-5-5 in the league, matching its overall mark.

The teams had met twice earlier in the season, with Paloma winning 3-2 on April 26 and the sides playing to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 31, 2025. ETSV Hamburg entered the contest on a two-match winning streak, while Paloma came off a 2-2 draw against Sasel on May 3.
