ALMATY, Kazakhstan (Interstat) — Aktobe defeated Maqtaaral 1-0 on Tuesday in a Week 13 Kazakh Premier League match at Ortalıq Stadion, a result that defied both a late red card and pregame projections.

Élder Santana Conceição, a substitute attacker from Vera Cruz, Brazil, scored the decisive goal in the 29th minute for the hosts. The match turned chaotic late when Maqtaaral’s Ramazan Karimov, who scored in the third minute of stoppage time, was shown a red card after the final whistle for dissent, nullifying his goal and preserving Aktobe’s narrow victory.

The game was physical, featuring four yellow cards. The outcome contradicted a Interstat game simulator that had projected a Maqtaaral win and an ELO system that heavily favored Aktobe. Both teams now hold identical 1-1-1 records in league play this season.
