Struggling Águila Seeks Road Win Against Jocoro FC in Salvadoran Primera División

JOCORO, El Salvador (Interstat) — Águila will look to halt a concerning slide in form when it visits Jocoro FC in a Salvadoran Primera División match Wednesday at Complejo Deportivo Tierra de Fuego.

The visiting Águilas enter the midweek fixture mired in a four-match losing streak across all competitions, having been outscored 7-1 during that span. Their most recent result was a 2-1 away defeat to Platense on Sept. 21, 2025.

Overall, Águila has secured just one victory in its last seven outings, a stark contrast to a more promising start to the season that included wins over Zacatecoluca and Municipal Limeno in August.

Despite the recent poor run, statistical models still favor the visitors. Interstat’s ELO rating system projects Águila with a 66% probability of winning the match. However, the same outlet’s game simulator predicts a 1-1 draw, highlighting the team’s current struggles to convert favoritism into results.

Jocoro FC, the home side, will be playing its first competitive match in over 14 months, according to available records. Its last noted result was a 2-2 draw at Alianza on Nov. 26, 2023. The extended absence from official play makes Jocoro a significant unknown, potentially offering an opportunity for an Águila side desperate for points.

The matchup is organized by the ESA, the governing body for El Salvador’s top-flight Primera División.

Águila’s recent woes have been defined by a lack of offense, failing to score in five of its last seven matches. Managerial adjustments or a squad shakeup could be in order if the negative trend continues against a Jocoro team eager to re-establish itself in the league.

Kickoff is set for Wednesday evening in Jocoro.
