MYKONOS, Greece (Interstat) — Neftchi IK will look to build on a split of its first two games when it visits Mykonos on Tuesday in basketball action.

Mykonos enters with an 0-1 record, while Neftchi IK is 1-1. The visitors most recently fell 73-61 at Parnu. Elijah Hawkins finished with 18 points, five rebounds, eight assists and one block in 35 minutes. Rob Howard added 12 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and one block in 36 minutes, and Zach Hicks scored 11 points with four rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes. In its other game this season, Neftchi IK beat Parnu 80-67. Hawkins had 19 points, three rebounds and five assists in 31 minutes in that win. Neftchi IK has split its two games against Parnu, winning at home and losing on the road. Both of its games this season have come against Parnu.

Hawkins is the player to watch for Neftchi IK. He followed the win over Parnu with the 18-point, eight-assist effort at Parnu. Hawkins also had five rebounds and one block in that game. He scored 19 points with five assists in the earlier victory. Hawkins has scored 18 or more points in each of his two most recent performances. Neftchi IK will look to Hawkins for production on the road.

Mykonos opened its season with an 88-85 home loss to PAOK. Jermaine Love scored 25 points and collected three rebounds in 34 minutes. Dj Funderburk added 15 points, five rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes, while Elijah Childs had six points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 16 minutes. Love is the player to watch for Mykonos. He produced 25 points in the loss to PAOK and will be central to the home team’s effort. Funderburk and Childs also contributed in the opener.

Mykonos will seek its first win of the season. Neftchi IK will aim to move above .500. The home team’s schedule includes games at Maroussi, Fribourg Olympic, AEK and VEF Riga. Mykonos also is set to host Lok. Plovdiv, Aris, Doxa Lefkadas, Oradea and Iraklis before a trip to Neftchi IK. Neftchi IK is scheduled to host VEF Riga, visit Fribourg Olympic, host Oradea and visit Lok. Plovdiv before hosting Mykonos later in the schedule. The teams are also set to meet again later in the schedule. The return matchup is set for Neftchi IK’s home court later in the schedule.
