VILNIUS (Interstat) — Vilniaus Stekas will host Mazeikiai on Saturday in a basketball matchup featuring teams looking to improve their records. Vilniaus Stekas enters at 3-4, while Mazeikiai is 1-6.

Mazeikiai will look to bounce back from an 80-72 home loss to Palangos Olimpas. Asa Kone was among the most productive players in that game, finishing with 13 points, 11 rebounds and one block in 30 minutes. Tautvydas Kupstas added 19 points, four rebounds, one assist and one block, and Royce Williams had 13 points, four rebounds and nine assists. Kone is the player to watch for Mazeikiai. Mazeikiai has lost six of its seven games and has scored 72 points or fewer in four of them.

Vilniaus Stekas will try to regroup after a 104-70 loss at Telsiai in its most recent game. Warner Bryan is the player to watch for Vilniaus Stekas. He had 13 points, three rebounds and three assists in that game. In his prior recent outing, he had two points, three rebounds and one block against BC Olimpas Palanga. Edvinas Seskus was also productive in the most recent game with 16 points, three rebounds and five assists, while Webster Simeus had 14 points, three rebounds, one assist and one block. Vilniaus Stekas has recent losses to Telsiai, Naglis Palanga and Kauno and recent wins against Kretingos Kretinga and Zalgiris. Vilniaus Stekas has reached 99 points twice this season, has dropped its last three games and will seek a stronger home performance.

Mazeikiai will aim to support Kone and Williams on the offensive end while trying to contain Bryan and the Vilniaus Stekas backcourt. Vilniaus Stekas will look to use its home court to end its recent slide. The matchup is set for Saturday.
