PALANGA, Lithuania (Interstat) — Palangos Olimpas will host Rytas 2 Saturday in a basketball matchup that pits a home team with two wins against a visiting side still seeking its first victory. Palangos Olimpas is 2-3 this season, while Rytas 2 is 0-5.

Palangos Olimpas most recently dropped a 102-76 decision at Naglis Palanga. Emmanuel Byrd led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds in 31 minutes, adding two assists and one block. Miles Thomas scored 17 points with four rebounds and two assists, and Ignas Razutis contributed 13 points, two rebounds and three assists. Earlier, Palangos Olimpas earned a 98-85 home win over Kretingos Kretinga, behind Byrd’s 27 points and 10 rebounds in 23 minutes. Palangos Olimpas also won 93-82 at Kauno and has home losses to Silute (92-85) and at Telsiai (90-70).

Byrd is the player to watch for Palangos Olimpas. He has been productive across his past four games, with the 18-point, 11-rebound outing against Naglis Palanga and the 27-point, 10-rebound effort against Kretinga. He also had 10 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one block against Silute, plus four points, two rebounds, one assist and one block at Telsiai.

Rytas 2 remains winless after an 84-72 home loss to Jurbarko in its most recent game. Adomas Pocius led Rytas 2 with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes. Erikas Sirgedas added six points, six rebounds and five assists, while Simas Rascius had four points, five rebounds and two assists. Rytas 2 has also lost to Naglis Palanga, Kauno, Mazeikiai and Telsiai.

Pocius is the player to watch for Rytas 2. He scored 18 points in his most recent outing and had 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists against BC Olimpas Palanga. He also produced 14 points, four rebounds and two assists against Omega-Tauras, seven points, three rebounds and three assists at Mazeikiai, and four points and three rebounds against Telsiai. He has reached double figures in three of his past five games.

Following the game, Rytas 2 is scheduled to visit Kedainiu before hosting Neptunas 2, visiting Vilkaviskis, hosting Alytaus Patriotai, visiting Zalgiris and hosting Kretingos Kretinga.
