Bremerhaven at Bochum

BEVERSTEDT, Germany (Interstat) — Bochum will look to build on a winning start when it serves as the home team against Bremerhaven on Friday at Rundturnhalle in Beverstedt, Germany.

Bochum enters the matchup with a 1-0 record. Bremerhaven is 0-2. Bochum most recently earned an 81-77 road win at Paderborn. Bremerhaven most recently dropped a 93-92 home decision to OrangeAcademy. Bremerhaven also opened its season with an 87-67 home loss to Löwen Braunschweig.

Bremerhaven will be the visiting team for the first time this season. The club has yet to secure a win and will face a Bochum side that has started its campaign with a victory. Bochum’s win at Paderborn gave the team early momentum as it returns to home competition. Bochum’s only game this season came on the road, and the club will now serve as the home team.

The game is scheduled for Friday at Rundturnhalle. Bochum will aim to remain unbeaten, while Bremerhaven will seek its first victory and avoid a third consecutive loss to begin the season. A win would move Bochum to 2-0, while a Bremerhaven victory would even its record at 1-2.

Bremerhaven’s schedule after Friday includes a home game against Paderborn, a road game at Köln, a home matchup with Essen, a road trip to Crailsheim, a home contest against Nürnberger BC, a road game at PS Karlsruhe, a road game at Wolmirstedt, a home game against Gottingen, a road game at Kirchheim and a road game at Heidelberg.

Bremerhaven will lean on its ability to stay competitive after a narrow loss to OrangeAcademy. The team fell by one point in that contest after a 20-point defeat in its opener. Bochum, meanwhile, won by four points at Paderborn and will try to carry that success into the Friday matchup.

The contest at Rundturnhalle will give Bochum a chance to protect its early unbeaten record. Bremerhaven will try to end its early-season skid and pick up its first win. Both teams will continue their schedules soon after, with Bremerhaven and Bochum each set for a series of games across the coming weeks.

Interstat’s game simulator projects Bochum to win 88-82. The projection gives Bochum a six-point edge over Bremerhaven.
