LONDON (Interstat) — The London Lions held off the visiting Leicester Riders 71-66 Friday at Copper Box Arena. London improved to 5-1, while Leicester fell to 0-2. Bernard Pelote led Leicester with 15 points and 15 rebounds, and Ethan Price paced London with 19 points and eight rebounds. Joshua O Garro added 15 points and six rebounds for the Lions, while Deante Johnson had 15 points, five rebounds and one block for the Riders. Thomas Kennedy contributed nine points and six rebounds, Morayoninuoluwa Soluade had six points, three rebounds and 10 assists, Tarik Phillip added three points, six rebounds and two assists, and Deane Williams scored five points for London. Julian Mackey finished with eight points and three assists for Leicester, and Tomide Akinsiku added two points and four rebounds. Leicester led 56-51 after three quarters before London closed with a 20-10 fourth.
