TARTU, Estonia (Interstat) — BC Tartu defeated visiting Tal Tech 65-41 on Saturday at Tartu Ulikooli Spordihoone, improving to 5-4 while Tal Tech fell to 4-3. Chris Maidoh paced Tartu Ulikool with 16 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one block. Mart Rosenthal added 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and one block, Taavi Jurkatamm led Tal Tech with six points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks, Keith Palek scored 10 points with six rebounds and one block, and Omar El Sheikh grabbed 13 rebounds to go with six points. Jorgen Rikberg scored eight points and Tormi Niits added five points and five rebounds. BC Tartu shot 24 of 64 from the floor and 12 of 20 from the free-throw line, collected 12 offensive rebounds and committed 14 turnovers. Tal Tech shot 15 of 60 overall, 4 of 27 from 3-point range and 7 of 13 from the free-throw line, with 11 offensive rebounds and 20 turnovers. BC Tartu led 21-15 after the first quarter and 33-24 at halftime.
