CHALKIDA, Greece (Interstat) — Chalkida erased an eight-point deficit after three quarters and outscored Peira Machites 22-10 in the fourth quarter to secure a 77-73 home win Saturday. Peira Machites led 18-15 after the first quarter and 39-35 at halftime. The visitors extended their advantage to 63-55 through three quarters before Chalkida rallied. Peira Machites scored 18 points in the first quarter, 21 in the second, 24 in the third and 10 in the fourth. Chalkida scored 15 in the first, 20 in the second, 20 in the third and 22 in the fourth. Chalkida improved to 1-0, while Peira Machites fell to 0-1. Peira Machites will host Sofadon next, while Chalkida will visit AE Psychiko Athens. Chalkida’s fourth-quarter surge sealed the result at home. The comeback capped a strong finish for the hosts. The home side’s late run proved decisive after a close opening half, and Peira Machites could not answer in the final minutes.
