KOTKA, Finland (Interstat) — KTP Kotka Basket defeated Tampereen 88-72 on Friday. KTP led 42-35 at halftime and 64-57 after three quarters before scoring 24 points in the final period. Tampereen scored 19 in the first, 16 in the second, 22 in the third and 15 in the fourth. KTP shot 20 of 44 from the floor, 8 of 24 from three-point range and 9 of 11 from the free throw line. Tampereen shot 19 of 40 from the floor, 5 of 11 from three and 5 of 10 from the line. KTP had 47 possessions and an offensive rating of 120.7; Tampereen had 45 possessions and an offensive rating of 107.3. Daniel Dolenc led KTP with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Joel Mantynen added 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and a block. Joona Tuomala scored nine, Jesper Granlund had nine and Zion Styles added eight. Jamal West Jr. paced Tampereen with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Jordan Mason scored 13, Shawn Hopkins had 10 and Erik Muhonen added six. Mervola Va. also scored six. KTP improved to 3-0; Tampereen fell to 1-3.
