Boulazac U21 at Paris U21
PARIS (Interstat) — Boulazac U21 will visit Paris U21 on Saturday, seeking its first win of the season against a Paris squad that has won two of its first three games.
Boulazac U21 enters at 0-3. Its most recent result was a 104-93 home loss to JL Bourg U21. Yannis Pierrot led Boulazac U21 with 22 points, five rebounds, five assists and one block in 34 minutes. Bastien Courant added 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and one block, while Corentin Pages scored 14 points with five rebounds and three assists. Pierrot has been Boulazac’s top individual threat. He scored 22 points in each of his past two games, including a 22-point, five-rebound, five-assist, one-block effort against JL Bourg U21 and a 22-point, three-rebound, two-assist game against Roanne U21. In between, he had eight points, two rebounds and two assists at Strasbourg U21. Boulazac also lost 76-56 at Strasbourg U21 and 102-72 at home to Roanne U21.
Paris U21 is 2-1 after an 80-78 home win over Strasbourg U21 in its most recent game. Melvine Tchouda is a player to watch for Paris U21. In his latest outing, a 93-79 loss at Le Mans U21, he had 14 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one block in 21 minutes. Earlier this season, in an 88-72 win at Nancy U21, Tchouda played 35 minutes and finished with five points, nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
Boulazac U21 has struggled on both ends, allowing at least 93 points in each of its three losses while scoring 72 or fewer twice. Paris U21 has been more balanced, reaching 80 points in two wins and 79 in its lone loss. The matchup could hinge on whether Pierrot can continue his scoring run against a Paris defense that has shown some rim protection with Tchouda’s length. Paris will look to use its home court and depth to pressure Boulazac early. Boulazac will need a strong start to avoid falling behind early on the road. Paris will aim to build on its recent home success and maintain pressure for four quarters.
After Saturday, Boulazac U21 is scheduled to host Le Mans U21, visit Limoges U21, host Gravelines-Dunkerque U21, visit Chalon/Saone U21, visit Cholet U21, visit Pau-Orthez U21, host Nancy U21, visit Dijon U21, host Saint Quentin U21 and host Lyon-Villeurbanne U21.
