Azzurro Napoli at Cantu
CUCCIAGO, Italy (Interstat) — Azzurro Napoli will visit Cantu on Sunday at Palasport Pianella, carrying a 4-0 record against a Cantu team still seeking its first win of the season. Cantu will play at home at Palasport Pianella in Cucciago, Italy.
Azzurro Napoli has opened with four victories, most recently a 93-75 road win over Buducnost. Napoli also has defeated Reggiana 99-93, Bourg-en-Bresse 84-76 and Maxima Roma 94-75. The visiting side has reached at least 84 points in each of its four games and has won twice away from home, including the most recent result. Napoli’s 4-0 start has come against a mix of domestic and international opposition, and the club will now try to continue that run at Palasport Pianella.
Cantu is 0-2 after an 85-84 overtime home loss to Udine. Riccardo Moraschini, Savion Flagg and Semaj Christon were listed among Cantu’s most productive players in that game. Cantu also fell 85-73 at Venezia. The overtime result marked Cantu’s second loss of the young season. The home team has yet to break into the win column and will try to use its home floor to slow a Napoli offense that has been productive through the first four games.
The game will match Napoli’s perfect start against Cantu’s search for consistency. Napoli has won each of its games by at least eight points, including road wins at Buducnost and Maxima Roma and home victories over Reggiana and Bourg-en-Bresse. Cantu has played two close games against Udine and Venezia, but has been unable to finish with a victory. Palasport Pianella will host the next opportunity for Cantu to change that.
For Azzurro Napoli, the game begins a busy stretch. The team is scheduled to visit Slask Wroclaw, then return home to face Olimpia Milano and Tofas. Later matchups include trips to Tortona and Neptūnas, a home game against Venezia, a home meeting with Trento, visits to Givova Scafati and Chemnitz, and a home game against Trieste 2004. Napoli’s next 10 games include a mix of league and international opponents.
Cantu’s upcoming schedule includes a trip to Trieste 2004, a visit to Reggiana, a home game against Olimpia Milano, a road game at Maxima Roma and a home matchup with Tortona. Cantu also is set to visit Givova Scafati, host Varese, visit Verona, host Trento and visit BC Roma. The stretch will test Cantu’s depth as it tries to build momentum after a difficult start. Cantu’s next 10 games include a mix of home and road contests.
Interstat’s game simulator projects Cantu to win 84-79. Interstat’s ELO system gives Cantu a 90.8 percent probability to win. The simulator and ELO projections both favor the home side.
