HUESCA, Spain (Interstat) — Huesca defeated visiting Clavijo 90-87 at Palacio Municipal de Huesca Saturday. Clavijo led 44-37 at halftime after scoring 22 points in each of the first two quarters, while Huesca managed 24 in the first and 13 in the second. Huesca responded with a 26-17 third quarter to take a 63-61 lead into the final period. The home team then held off Clavijo by taking the fourth quarter 27-26. Clavijo scored 17 in the third and 26 in the fourth. Huesca improved to 1-1, while Clavijo dropped to 0-2. Clavijo opened the season with a loss to Prat, and Huesca split its first two games after an overtime loss at EB Lliria. Huesca’s next game is at Molina Basket. Clavijo will host Benicarlo next. Huesca also will face CB Cartagena at home, then visit Gandia. Clavijo will visit EB Lliria, then Sant Antoni, before hosting Molina Basket.
