CASTELLÓ DE LA PLANA, Spain (Interstat) — The Spanish Segunda FEB regular season concludes Sunday with a top-of-the-table clash as Castelló hosts Albacete at Pabellon Polideportivo de Castello.

Castelló (24-7) sits atop the standings, one game ahead of Albacete (23-8). The home side boasts the league’s best home record at 14-2, while Albacete has gone 9-6 on the road.

The two teams split the season series. Castelló won the first meeting 78-66 on Dec. 14, 2025, and dominated the second 73-45 on April 4. But Albacete claimed the most recent encounter, beating Castelló 70-64 at home on May 24.

Albacete enters on a five-game winning streak, including a 70-64 victory over Castelló in that latest matchup. The visitors also defeated Iraurgi twice (87-76 at home on May 17, 80-60 on the road on May 10) and edged CDP 80-75 on May 3.

Forward Silvano Merlo has been a catalyst for Albacete. In the May 24 win against Castelló, Merlo played 29 minutes and posted 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
