Sencur CP Kranj vs. KK Cedevita

ARENA STOZICE, Ljubljana, Slovenia (Interstat) — KK Cedevita, the higher-seeded team in the Slovenian SKL, will host Sencur CP Kranj on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in a league matchup that carries playoff implications for both sides.

Cedevita enters the game with a 33-20 record, having won six of its last eight contests. Sencur CP Kranj sits at 19-11, coming off a narrow 86-79 loss at home to Cedevita on Wednesday, May 20. That defeat snapped a three-game winning streak for Sencur.

The two teams met just three days ago in Kranj, where Cedevita secured the road victory behind 25 points and five rebounds from forward Matthew Hurt, along with 19 points, five rebounds and six assists from guard Umoja Gibson. Sencur’s Filip Kalajzic paced his team with 19 points and five rebounds in 30 minutes.

Kalajzic, a 6-foot-8 forward, has been a consistent contributor for Sencur. In his past four games, he averaged 11.0 points and 6.3 rebounds while playing 22.5 minutes per contest. He scored 19 points in the recent loss to Cedevita and added nine points and six rebounds in a win over Helios on May 4.

Gibson, a guard, has been one of Cedevita’s most productive players during the past two weeks. Over his last six games, he averaged 17.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 25.5 minutes. He scored 26 points in each of two wins (Interstat) — against Zlatorog on May 9 and Crvena Zvezda on May 12 (Interstat) — and posted 19 points and nine assists in a 101-92 loss at Crvena Zvezda on May 7.

Cedevita’s recent results include a 106-74 blowout of Zlatorog on May 17 and a 92-86 win over Crvena Zvezda on May 12. The team has struggled against top competition, dropping two of three games against Crvena Zvezda in May, but has otherwise dominated lower-ranked opponents.

Sencur’s form has been more uneven. The team posted wins over Helios (75-65 on May 9 and 76-70 on May 4) but fell in overtime to Ilirija 102-99 on April 30. Sencur also lost to Krka 86-66 on April 8, though it bounced back with a 103-98 win over Hopsi on April 18.

Saturday’s game will tip off at Arena Stozice, a 12,480-seat venue in the capital. Cedevita will look to exploit its depth and home-court advantage. Gibson’s ability to create offense and Hurt’s inside presence give Cedevita a balanced attack. Sencur will rely on Kalajzic’s versatility and the playmaking of point guard Jan Novak, who contributed 14 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the May 20 loss.

A win for Cedevita would solidify its position near the top of the SKL standings, while Sencur aims to avenge its recent defeat and improve its playoff seeding.
