(Interstat) — AP Sports Preview

SZTE-Szedeák visits Oroszlanyi on Wednesday, May 20, in a Hungarian NBIA matchup between two teams near the bottom of the standings. SZTE-Szedeák (12-21) holds a three-game edge over Oroszlanyi (9-25) with the regular season winding down. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. local time.

SZTE-Szedeák enters on a high note after a 77-69 win at NKA Univ. on Saturday. Center Keegan Records played all 40 minutes, scoring 26 points with eight rebounds, one assist and three blocks. The 6-foot-9 forward has been a consistent force, averaging 15 points and 8.8 rebounds over his last six games. In the teams’ most recent meeting April 29, Records posted 17 points, six rebounds and two assists in a 95-79 home victory. He also recorded a double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds) against Egis Körmend on May 9 and had 20 points and 12 boards against NKA Univ. on April 25.

Guard Jarvis Moss contributed 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists in Saturday’s win, while forward Dorde Drenovac added 15 points and seven rebounds. SZTE-Szedeák has won four of its last five games, though it lost a tight 68-63 contest to KTE-Duna Aszfalt on May 13.

Oroszlanyi comes off a narrow 91-89 loss at Zalakeramia ZTE on Saturday, its third defeat in four games. Shooting guard Rudi Williams led the way with 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in 36 minutes. The 6-foot-3 guard has been Oroszlanyi’s most productive player, averaging 17.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists over his last six appearances. He scored 19 points with nine rebounds and four assists in the April 29 loss at SZTE-Szedeák, and earlier this season he poured in 23 points against Egis Körmend on April 22.

Guard Brandon Randolph chipped in 18 points, five rebounds and two assists in Saturday’s loss, and forward Kornel Csuti added 17 points and five boards. Oroszlanyi has played inconsistently, but its biggest win came May 13, a 123-87 blowout of Egis Körmend in which Williams played only 24 minutes.

The head-to-head series is even this season. Oroszlanyi won 104-87 at home on March 14 behind a balanced attack, while SZTE-Szedeák answered with a 95-79 victory in Szeged on April 29. Oroszlanyi also won the first meeting 75-67 on Nov. 15, 2025.

Both teams are fighting to avoid the bottom of the NBIA standings. SZTE-Szedeák has momentum and the league’s hottest big man in Records. Oroszlanyi will rely on Williams’ all-around play and the home crowd to snap a two-game losing streak. With playoff positioning at stake, expect a physical battle between two hungry squads.
