EB Lliria vs. Castelló

CASTELLÓN DE LA PLANA, Spain (Interstat) — Castelló looks to extend its dominance over EB Lliria when the teams meet Sunday at Pabellon Polideportivo de Castello in a Spanish Segunda FEB matchup.

Castelló (23-6) holds the league’s second-best record and has won all three head-to-head meetings this season against EB Lliria (15-14). The home side won 82-72 on the road May 9, 87-80 at EB Lliria on April 18 and 93-72 at home on Jan. 4.

EB Lliria enters on a two-game losing skid, most recently falling to Castelló on May 9. The visitors have lost four of their past six overall.

Guard Alonso Meana is the focal point for EB Lliria. In the May 9 loss, Meana logged 27 minutes and posted 25 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block. He scored 19 points in a May 2 loss at Valladolid and had 17 points and 7 assists in a 102-75 victory over Valladolid on April 25. Meana is the team’s leading scorer and primary playmaker.

Forward Eric Stutz paces Castelló. In the May 9 victory, the forward notched 18 points and 9 rebounds in 32 minutes. He followed with 19 points and 9 rebounds in an 83-59 win over Coto Cordoba CB on May 3. Stutz struggled in an April 25 loss at Coto Cordoba CB, managing 6 points and 2 rebounds in 26 minutes, but has otherwise been a consistent double-double threat.

In the May 9 game, Castelló also received key contributions from guard Roger Fabrega (16 points, 4 rebounds, 10 assists) and forward Pedro Garcia (11 points, 7 rebounds). For EB Lliria, forward Michael Ogunsuyi Enabulele added 12 points and 8 rebounds, and forward Diego Rivas chipped in 5 points and 5 rebounds.

The game tips off at Pabellon Polideportivo de Castello, a venue where Castelló has been dominant this season. A win would further solidify Castelló’s hold on a top-two seed heading into the postseason, while an EB Lliria victory would provide a critical boost for its playoff positioning.
