GALAȚI, Romania (Interstat) — Tyrell Johnson posted a double-double as Corona Brasov defeated Phoenix Galati 96-88 on Sunday in a Romanian Divizia A game at Dunarea Galati.

Johnson, a small forward, scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Munis Tutu added 19 points and 12 assists, and Mihai Maciuca contributed 20 points for Corona.

Phoenix led 32-26 after the first quarter, but Corona outscored the hosts 27-15 in the second to take control. Corona extended its lead in the third quarter and matched Phoenix 23-23 in the fourth.

Tedrick Wilcox led all scorers with 22 points for Phoenix. Mihailo Jovicic added 12 points and seven assists.

Corona improved to 18-25 with its third consecutive victory over Phoenix this month, while Phoenix fell to 1-34. The teams had met twice previously in May, with Corona winning both games.
