Mega Leks vs. Borac
ČAČAK, Serbia (Interstat) — The Adriatic League regular season continues Sunday when Borac hosts Mega Leks at Hala Borca Kraj Morave. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. local time.
Mega Leks enters with a 13-15 record, while Borac sits at 13-21. The two teams met just two days earlier on Friday, though that game ended 0-0 — a result that will not count in the standings and likely stemmed from a postponement or administrative decision. Their most recent completed contest came March 15, when Mega Leks defeated Borac 95-77 in Belgrade.
Mega Leks is coming off a 95-72 win Monday over Split. Forward Nikola Durisic led the way with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists in 28 minutes. The 6-foot-8 forward has been consistent lately: He posted 18 points, three rebounds and five assists in an 89-85 loss at Studentski Centar on April 13, and scored 19 points with six assists in a 103-98 overtime win over Krka on April 6. Durisic is averaging 18 points over his last three games and will be a focal point of the Borac defense.
Other contributors for Mega Leks against Split included guard Urban Kroflic (12 points, eight rebounds, five assists) and center Abdramane Siby (13 points, four rebounds, three blocks).
Borac, meanwhile, lost 92-66 at Spartak on April 18. Forward Nikola Manojlovic had 12 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes. The 6-9 forward has been a double-double threat: He recorded 21 points and 14 rebounds in a 94-89 win at Ilirija on April 13, and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 67-65 loss to Zadar on April 3 despite scoring only seven points. Manojlovic is expected to be the primary inside presence for Borac, especially after the team’s recent defensive struggles.
In that Spartak loss, guard Aleksa Uskokovic added 14 points, five rebounds and three assists, and shooting guard Uros Carapic chipped in 12 points and two rebounds.
The game carries significance for both teams as they jockey for playoff positioning in the ABA League. Mega Leks has won three of its last five, while Borac has dropped four of its last five. The March 15 matchup saw Mega Leks dominate, but Borac will have home-court advantage this time.
Sunday’s contest will also feature a battle of two NIkola: Durisic’s scoring versatility against Manojlovic’s rebounding and interior play. Both players have been key to their teams’ recent performances and will be central to the outcome.
