Gandia vs. Morón

MORÓN, Spain (Interstat) — The Spanish Segunda FEB playoff race intensifies Sunday when Morón hosts Gandia at Pabellon Alameda, with both teams separated by a half-game in the standings.

Morón (17-10) enters on a turbulent stretch, having lost its most recent outing 84-75 at Caja 87 on April 18. The team previously dropped two of three before that defeat, but its overall home record remains strong. Gandia (16-10) also comes off a loss, falling 85-80 at Spanish Academy on the same date, and has struggled on the road, losing five of its last six away games.

Sunday’s matchup marks the second meeting this season between the clubs; the first, played Nov. 16, 2025, ended with Morón winning 79-71 in Gandia.

Gandia’s offense relies heavily on shooting guard Kyle Greeley, who has averaged 18.3 points over his past three games. In the April 18 loss, Greeley logged 30 minutes, scoring 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds and adding one block. Two games earlier, he posted 22 points and three assists in a 73-83 defeat at EB Lliria. Greeley leads Gandia in scoring (17.4 ppg) and ranks second in rebounding (6.1 rpg).

Point guard Carlos Hurtado adds playmaking; he contributed 13 points and four assists in the Spanish Academy loss. Luis Ferrando also scored 13 points off the bench in that game.

Morón counters with small forward Jose Alberto Jimenez, who has shown flashes of dominance. Jimenez produced 20 points, five rebounds and two assists in a 93-83 win at Leonesa on April 5, but he managed just three points on 1-of-6 shooting in a home victory over CDP on April 11. He bounced back with 11 points, six rebounds and two assists in the loss at Caja 87. Jimenez averages 14.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Center Sidney Correia provides interior presence; he scored 14 points in 15 minutes against Caja 87. Volodymyr Orlov added 14 points and five boards in that contest.

Both teams are jockeying for playoff positioning in the Segunda FEB’s Group B. Morón sits fourth, while Gandia is fifth (Interstat) — a win Sunday would pull Gandia even in the loss column.

Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. local time.
