Mega Leks U18 vs. Olimpija U18

Top U18 Teams Collide in Croatian A-1 Liga Showdown

ZAGREB, Croatia (Interstat) — A pivotal matchup atop the Croatian A-1 Liga U18 standings is set for Wednesday as Mega Leks U18 visits Olimpija U18, with both teams carrying identical 5-1 records.

The contest is a swift rematch of their Feb. 8 meeting, which Olimpija won 82-73 at home. That result stands as the lone blemish on Mega Leks’ season thus far. Olimpija’s victory was powered by a standout performance from guard Maks Ciperle, who scored 29 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked four shots. Center Cameron Houindo added 24 points and nine rebounds.

Mega Leks enters with significant momentum following a dominant 109-65 victory over KK Partizan U18 on Tuesday. Center Luigi Suigo was remarkably efficient in that win, recording a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in just 11 minutes of play. He will be a key player to watch for the visitors. Guard Dorde Lilic added 14 points in the rout.

Olimpija has not played since the Feb. 7-8 weekend, when they split a pair of games. After the win over Mega Leks, they fell 74-72 in a close road contest the following day.

The matchup features two of the league’s most potent offenses. Mega Leks has scored over 100 points in three of its five wins this season. Olimpija has demonstrated its own firepower, including a 103-point outing against Partizan U18 in November.

With first place in the balance, Wednesday’s game offers Mega Leks a chance for immediate redemption and Olimpija an opportunity to solidify its early-season advantage in the head-to-head series. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. local time at Olimpija’s home venue.
