Ibar Rozaje vs. Studentski Centar
Preview: Ibar Rozaje vs. Studentski Centar
PODGORICA, Montenegro (Interstat) — A Montenegrin Prva A Liga matchup on Wednesday features two teams looking to build on rare recent victories when Ibar Rozaje visits Studentski Centar at Sala Srednje Medicinske.
The home side, Studentski Centar (14-27 overall), snapped a three-game skid with a 76-73 home win over Ilirija on March 19. Guard Matic Rebec led the way with 19 points, six rebounds and seven assists, continuing his consistent playmaking. In his last three outings, Rebec has averaged 14.3 points and 6.7 assists.
They host an Ibar Rozaje squad (7-14) coming off its highest-scoring performance of the season, a 108-99 victory over Teodo Tivat on March 16. That win was fueled by a historic individual effort from shooting guard Nenad Vukovic, who poured in 63 points in 39 minutes. Vukovic’s scoring has been volatile—he followed the 63-point outburst with a 10-point game in a loss—but he remains a constant focal point for the visitors.
Beyond the star guards, each team will look for secondary contributors. For Studentski Centar, Aleksa Ilic provided a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) in the win over Ilirija. Ibar Rozaje received strong support from Matija Kalan (17 points, 5 assists) and Armin Kalic (10 rebounds) in their last victory.
Despite their losing records, both clubs have shown an ability to score in flashes. Ibar’s 108-point showing and Studentski Centar’s 92-point output in a February win over Kotor indicate potential for an up-tempo contest. However, defensive consistency has been an issue; Studentski Centar has allowed 90 or more points in four of its last ten games.
The game marks the start of a busy stretch for Studentski Centar, which is scheduled to play seven games over the next five weeks. Ibar Rozaje has a lighter immediate schedule, with its next contest not until March 28.
Tip-off is set for Wednesday afternoon in Podgorica.
