Fos Provence vs. Metropole Basket
PARIS (Interstat) — Fos Provence, holding a 26-13 record across all competitions, visits Metropole Basket (26-15) on Tuesday in a French NM1 matchup that carries playoff implications for both sides.
The game, set for May 5, 2026, comes less than six weeks after the teams last met March 31, when Fos Provence edged Metropole Basket 81-78 at home. That result extended Fos’ head-to-head advantage, but Metropole will seek revenge on its own floor.
Fos Provence enters on a high note after a 79-70 overtime victory Friday at home against Levallois. Guard Dominic Bridgewater played 38 minutes, tallying 23 points, one rebound and four assists. Bridgewater has been a consistent scoring threat, averaging 18.4 points over his last five games, though he struggled in a 70-90 loss at Toulouse Basket on April 26 (8 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists in 22 minutes). His shooting will be critical against a Metropole defense that allowed 97 points in a loss at Berck Rang on Friday.
Bridgewater’s support comes from forward Jaraun Burrows, who contributed 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the win over Levallois, and small forward Willian Marieanais, who added 14 points and six rebounds. Fos Provence’s depth has helped them win four of their last six — the only losses coming at Toulouse and at UTLPB.
Metropole Basket, meanwhile, aims to bounce back from Friday’s 97-83 loss at Berck Rang. Shooting guard Baptiste Tackamoud led the team with 19 points, one rebound and one assist in 23 minutes. Tackamoud has been explosive at times — he scored 29 points in a 103-98 loss at Le Havre on April 10 — but has also been inconsistent, managing just seven points in a win over Orchies on April 26. Forward Forest Keziah added 14 points, four rebounds and three assists against Berck, while power forward Moulaye Sissoko contributed nine points and four boards.
Metropole has lost two of its last three, including a 103-98 defeat at Le Havre and a 90-86 home win over Orchies. The team’s high-scoring tendency — it has eclipsed 100 points twice this season — could test Fos Provence’s defense, which held Levallois to 70 points last time out.
Both teams have key games ahead: Fos Provence hosts Lorient on May 8, while Metropole travels to Mulhouse on the same date. Tuesday’s outcome will shape their positioning in the NM1 standings as the regular season winds down.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time.
